Lázně Bělohrad is situated near the town of Jičín in the picturesque foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains. The Anenské mud spa is named after a Prussian princess who experimented with the beneficial effects of the local mud. The spa is encircled by natural parkland, great for relaxing walks and the venue for numerous music festivals in summer. This quiet town can also boast a historically valuable Baroque chateau built by the Czech-Italian architect Giovanni Santini. The countryside around Bělohrad is a unique landscape of forests dotted with examples of folk architecture. Easter celebrations here are associated with the tradition of turning on the local Annamariánský spring which has curative properties. The spa with its mud treatments, the fresh mountain air and the tranquility of the surrounding countryside all combine to make a stay here beneficial for those with an array of ailments.

The local sulphur and iron rich mud found near the spa, is used to treat rheumatism, back complaints, spondylitis, arthritis, postoperative problems and cerebral palsy. Those staying at the spa can also drink the mineral water from the Annamariánský spring which is rich in iron.

At the spa there are tennis courts and a new minigolf course. Guests can also hire mountain bikes.
