Karviná - Darkov - spa resort & hotels
Karviná is a town in the north-east of the Czech Republic on the border with Poland. There was a long tradition of natural healing in the area long before a modern spa was established. The spa park provides relaxing greenery and quiet corners dotted with statues on the banks of the River Olše. The tasteful historical centre of Karviná with Fryštát Chateau is just 20 minutes’ walk from the spa. There is always lots to do here, be it walking or shopping, visiting the sights or doing sport.
The unique iodine and bromine-rich water and a whole host of therapeutic procedures are used to treat patients with musculoskeletal problems and circulation disorders, neurological and skin problems and those who have undergone surgery or suffered an injury of some kind.
At the sports hall in Karviná visitors can play tennis, squash and badminton or enjoy fitness sessions, a Jacuzzi and year-round skating. At Loděnice Lake visitors can hire boats. Tours of the chateau with guides in period costume (Renaissance, Baroque etc) are also very popular.
